Next, their advisor leads them through the panoply of leathers, patinas and lining options shown in the Maison’s displays and digital library. Based on their preferences, a variation is agreed that transforms the design into an exclusive piece reflecting the tastes of its future owner.
It takes about three to four months to craft a unique piece chosen from our endless options. Venezia or suede calfskin? Perhaps a precious skin like ostrich, lizard or alligator? And then the client can play with over a hundred patinas for just the finish they want – from a subtle gleam to the glassiest gloss.
For footwear, the shoemaker’s craft opens up a wealth of possibilities, from a welted construction to Norwegian stitching, while the choice of sole – with nine construction methods and seven colour variations – transforms the very character of a boot or shoe. On leather, the Scritto motif is a distinctive Berluti signature, whose asymmetry is one of the Maison's most recognizable design codes.
