Berluti’s shoemakers, tailors, last makers and colourists form the Maison’s living heritage – and preserving their unique know-how is an ongoing priority for us.
To keep alive this treasure trove of expertise, we need to attract fresh talent and guide new practitioners as they hone their skills. Berluti has instituted a training ecosystem organized around the Académie du Savoir-Faire within the manufacture, the École de la Patine (the only establishment that teaches the art of patina), and structured pathways enabling apprentices and career-switchers to gradually build proficiency in the crafts of shoemaking, tailoring and leathercraft.
LVMH’s Métiers d’Excellence programme operates in parallel to showcase our artisans, foster intergenerational connections, and celebrate inspiring careers trajectories.
And since traditional savoir-faire is only meaningful when it respects the world it draws from, all our staff are trained in environmental issues by the Life Academy. Preserving the crafts of the past while protecting the natural world for tomorrow – that’s what makes us proud of what we do every day.
