As the story goes, Olga Berluti learned the Berluti knot from Britain’s Duke of Windsor, a man known for his sharp dressing.
He was a Berluti regular, as famous for his escapades as for his elegance, and a natural affinity of ideas had grown between the heiress of the French-Italian Maison and the fashion-defining prince.
It was he who popularized the tie knot that still bears his name. When lacing up his shoes, he used a double-loop knot that his grandmother, Alexandra of Denmark, taught him to prevent his laces from coming undone during military parades and ceremonial events.
