New Milan store celebrates Berluti’s dual French-Italian heritage

The Maison is delighted to unveil its new home in Milan’s fashion district, the Quadrilatero d’Oro. To step inside this flagship is to enter the world of Berluti, shaped by its Franco-Italian heritage and generations of shoemaking savoir-faire.

More than a simple change of address, this move marks a new chapter in the story of a Maison whose identity has been forged at the intersection of two cultures. Founded in Paris in the late 19th century by a family of shoemakers from Italy’s Marche region, Berluti has, from the outset, cultivated a distinctive dialogue between French elegance and Italian craftsmanship.e italien.


Berluti chose Milan, the capital of Lombardy, as a fitting stage for unveiling its reinvented in-store experience, underscoring the strong ties that connect the Maison to Italy and its artisanal craft heritage.

Behind the impressive arches of the store's facade, 349 square metres of retail space unfold as a series of rooms designed in the spirit of a private residence. Each room evokes a chapter of the Maison’s history, gradually drawing visitors deeper into a world where French elegance meets Italian sprezzatura.


From the moment one enters, the materials, palette and architectural detailing all pay tribute to the Patina, Berluti’s emblematic signature. Its subtle tonal transitions have evolved over time into a true aesthetic language, bearing witness to savoir-faire passed down through generations. This superb craftsmanship is celebrated through a glorious installation of shoe lasts, spanning a rainbow of colours and conjuring up the patient artistry of the master colourists who shaped the Maison’s identity.

A central part of the experience revolves around the craft that Berluti was born from: shoemaking. The footwear room is dominated by an imposing leather ring, where clients try on shoes in a very special – almost ceremonial – fitting ritual. In this light-filled space, the shoes on display showcase the full spectrum of Berluti’s expertise; from the most formal to the more casual styles, all attest to our constant pursuit of remarkable elegance.


Further on, the sales rooms, dedicated to menswear and to our most loyal clients, extend that same vision of a masculine elegance sensitive to fine materials, art and beautiful objects. In this contemporary reading of Italian sprezzatura, refinement has nothing to do with showiness; rather, it’s about getting every detail just right.
