BERLUTI'S SIGNATURE CANVAS
Berluti presents SIGNATURE, its first pattern canvas printed with Berluti’s seal and associated with the brand’s hand-patinated Venezia leather.
Inspired by the Maison's archives, the design of the SIGNATURE canvas blends the new Berluti logo, taken from the shoe tree of the very first pair shoes made by Alessandro Berluti, and the undulating strokes of the iconic Scritto motif, a tribute to the art of calligraphy created by Olga Berluti.
Inspired by those archives, the Maison Berluti created a new expression of the Scritto motif, drawn in an “All over” pattern on this new canvas. Therefore, the Signature canvas signifies the unique creative flair and historical know-how typical of Berluti, once again reinventing the boundaries between craftsmanship and style characterized by the Maison.
The seal, inspired by the Scritto motif, has been revisited by adding the date of creation and the name of the Maison, Berluti 1895, as well as the words Paris and the letter B, in deep black. The sinuous brackets from the handwritten document have been redesigned and mirrored, outlining the areas of repetition of the new design.
Printed over a black background in shades of slate and lead grey reminiscent of the Parisian landscape, SIGNATURE is made in a textured coated fabric that suggests the aspect of a grained leather without imitating it, retaining the main property of a coated canvas, a resistance that withstands daily and intensive use, while the numerous manual interventions carried out in Berluti's workshops complete its luxurious finish. The SIGNATURE pattern is completed with Berluti’s trademark finishing - including leather details topped off with bootmaker studs that bring a metallic sparkle to each piece.
This collection offers a variety of briefcases, cross-body bags, clutches, totes, backpacks, travel bags, and a sailor bag - all featuring the new emblematic of the Maison.
