Still Venice
Palm trees, a tropical blue sky and the concrete jungle of LA are the perfect backdrop for Berluti's edgiest pieces for this season.
The Berluti Spring/Summer 2018 Collection brings together ease, a cosmopolitan spirit and a raw sense of charm to match the unique landscape of Los Angeles. Berluti's Creative Director Haider Ackermann draws the inspiration for his arty colour palette from the work of American-German photographer Erwin Blumenfeld, notorious for his subtle hues, and sees them through a current lens. Thus, citrine yellow is worn on a leather perfecto with raw seam finishes. A mognolia white ottoman leather bomber combines with a clean dove grey T-shirt. A light, almost sheer cashmere coat completes a total black look with a street edge, contrasting with a white denim look that attracts the light. Accessories become essentials thanks to a suede day bag that can also be used as a weekender. And to the brand's new Singulier ankle boots, sporting a low cut and a patina that is also an ode to Blumenfeld's experimental techniques.
