Bruno Allodi, the last of the great Italian custom shoemakers, has appointed Olga Berluti as his artistic successor, bequeathing her one of his creations: a near-perfect boot designed at the end of the war for an American officer. This boot made the young Allodi famous among the aristocracy, the landed gentry and high dignitaries of the Church.
